Phone Bridge

A phone bridge is what most people would call a conference call. AVR is making certain shows available to listeners and rebroadcasters through the use of a phone bridge.

The simple explanation of this is: you call a phone number enter a five digit code and listen to the show over your phone. Your end is muted so all you can do is listen.

The phone number is a toll number...meaning it will cost you long distance charges.
(unless you have unlimited long distance)

The reason we are beginning to offer this is because broadcasting on short-wave radio is expensive and has an unreliable signal. We also understand quite a few people choose not to have a computer and some who choose not to put it online. C-band satellite dishes are not allowed in many communities (size issue). This gives AVR the opportunity to provide our content to people who would otherwise not be able to listen...anyone with a phone can now listen to selected shows.

So, AVR is adding this additional way to listen. Be advised, we are not certain how long any of AVR broadcasts will remain available on short-wave radio. Much of this situation is out of our control.
